A Stronger, Brighter Pickering
My name is Janice Frampton & I Believe In A Better Pickering.
Pickering resident for over 40 years, founder & VP of Taxpayers Coalition of Pickering and Ajax, and long-time community advocate. Running for Mayor on October 26, 2026 to ensure responsible growth, lower housing & living costs for young families, protect green spaces, and rebuild public trust with open, accessible City Hall leadership.

Pickering deserves leadership that listens, acts, and puts residents first. My priorities are focused on responsible growth, stronger infrastructure, affordability, safer and more connected communities, and greater transparency at City Hall. As Pickering continues to grow, we must make sure our roads, transportation, services, parks, and infrastructure keep pace. I will stand up for established neighbourhoods, protect the character of our community, and ensure residents have a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their future. Together, we can build a Pickering that is prosperous, connected, and a great place to live for generations to come.

Taxpayer Value & Financial Accountability
Address rising property taxes through disciplined budgeting, efficient use of taxpayer dollars, clear financial reporting, and stronger oversight of spending. Residents deserve to understand where their money is going and to know that every dollar is being used responsibly. Manage property taxes with disciplined budgeting, efficient spending, transparent reporting, and strict oversight. Residents should know their money is used responsibly.
Protecting Our Land & Using What We Have Wisely
Protect Pickering's natural environment and agricultural lands while making better use of existing infrastructure and previously developed land. Prioritize opportunities to revitalize vacant or underused commercial properties before unnecessarily consuming more green space, and ensure meaningful engagement with residents and Indigenous communities on decisions affecting land and community.
Make City Hall more accessible, responsive, and accountable to citizens. People should have meaningful opportunities to speak to Council, ask difficult questions, receive answers, share ideas, and participate in decisions, respectfully, openly, and without unnecessary barriers.
Support development that makes sense for Pickering and is matched by the infrastructure and services growth requires. Plan for roads, transportation, community services, and other public infrastructure while creating complete, connected communities and respecting existing neighbourhoods.
Housing Affordability & Youth Opportunities
Creating sensible starter housing options, keeping municipal tax burdens manageable, and supporting local business growth so young professionals and families can build their future in Pickering.
Modern Transit & Climate Action
Expanding reliable local public transit, active bike/walk routes, digital City Hall services, and green infrastructure for a clean, connected, and tech-forward city.
